Basic information of fireproof ACP panels
Fireproof ACP panel is an excellent building material, which can make the building safe and beautiful. The reason why the ACP panel can be fireproof is because of the mineral core that accounts for 70% to 90% of the entire product sandwiched between two layers of aluminum. The fireproof aluminum composite panel is not pure aluminum metal, but an alloy made of aluminum as the base material. The surface is coated with PVDF/PE/double-layer PE paint.
Most mineral cores are supported by MDH and ATH compounds, which do not contain halogen components. This ensures that the fireproof aluminum composite panels will not release any harmful gas when it encounters a flame baking. Sunshine aluminum composite panels also have self-extinguishing and smoke suppression functions. These functions are the reason why the use of fire-resistant ACP panels to decorate buildings is considered safe.
Identification of fire-resistant ACP panels
When we buy FR ACP, the most obvious way to check product characteristics is to burn it with fire and check the result.
- Peel off the aluminum layer on both sides. This requires some effort, because the aluminum plate and the aluminum core are tightly combined. At this time, you need the help of a suitable peeling tool and protection at the same time.
- Use a torch or candle to burn the board core for 30 seconds.
- After the combustion is over, check whether the burning place continues to burn and the situation of smoke.
The result of this test can detect the effect of FR ACP panel without any error. The core is composed of non-combustible minerals, which are truly fire-resistant or non-combustible in nature. You will also find that Sunshine ACP panels will not release harmful gases when burned, but a small amount of non-toxic other gases. The spread of toxic smoke and flames is the main reason for the great power of fires. Sunshine FR A2 ACP can easily pass this test.
There is also a fire-resistant core station product with 70% FR ACP, which is a fire-resistant B product. In the above test process, we can see a weaker flame retardant effect, because the mineral content is 70%, there will be a short burn when leaving the fire source. If it does not stop burning within 110 seconds after leaving the fire, then its quality has some problems.
Why identify fireproof ACP panels?
FR ACP panels are more expensive than other commonly used building materials. In order to ensure the fireproof performance and the reasonableness of the expensive price, it should be checked by the above-mentioned test.
A building must be fireproof, especially tall buildings. If the material quality is not up to standard, it will threaten the safety and sustainability of the structure.
